Am I in? Am I out?
I always feel bad when people knock on my door and I'm not in or if I just don't hear them... no longer!!
This sign is made from a voltage regulator, segment displays (same as the ones in old clocks and elevators), and a switch. It's able to run off outlet power as well as battery power.

Project Debrief
The Segment displays were relatively simple to use as they just involved completing the circuit with a specific pin to display the desired character. The switch was attached in such a way that it completed the positive circuit since the ground was common across the entire display. During usage, it was noticed that a reliable way of powering it would be difficult as a wall outlet may not always be in reach.

Update June 2017:
Added a Solar Panel, Charging Circuit, and Battery to the setup to make the sign completely self sufficient and low maintenance.
